This listing includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the pictured example. This replacement PCB is intended for HDD repair and data-recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will address your problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot move the chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant it for you. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either physically transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
