Use our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a PCB replacement will address your issue, and consult the Donor Matching Guide to ensure the part matches your drive.\n\nMost hard drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for proper drive operation. That ROM or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer.\n\nFor orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
