This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, verify that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique calibration and firmware data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be moved mechanically, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
