This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we carry large quantities of PCBs, the exact board shipped may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair or data-recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will address your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive boards store unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for proper operation. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
