This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery work, this replacement board can be used when diagnosing or fixing a failing drive. Most WD PCBs store unique parameters in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If a physical transfer is possible, a local computer technician can perform the swap. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either moving the original ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement with the correct ROM data.
