This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Before purchasing, verify that a PCB swap is likely to resolve your issue by following our hard drive Diagnostics Guide. Also confirm part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs contain unique data stored on a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly. That ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers who prefer we handle it, purchases of $60 or more qualify for a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
