This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for HDD repair and data-recovery work. Many hard drive PCBs include unique factory data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to operate correctly and must be transferred to the replacement board. If possible, the ROM chip can be physically moved to the new PCB — a local computer technician can usually perform that task. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a free adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
