This sale is for a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the pictured unit. These circuit boards are intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Most PCBs store unique drive data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform that task. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
