Item is the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of compatible PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. To determine whether a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD 2.5" SATA PCBs contain a ROM (memory) chip that holds unique drive parameters required for proper operation; those ROM contents must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement PCB with the correct ROM data.
