This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. The PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Before buying, make sure a replacement PCB will resolve your drive issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip itself, or the data it contains, must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the job. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either mounts the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
