Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most HDD PCBs contain unique ROM memory that holds information required for proper operation; that ROM or its data must be moved onto the replacement board or reprogrammed into it. If transferring the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the task.
