Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We hold a large number of PCBs in stock, so the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, use our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a PCB swap will address your drive issue and consult the Donor Matching Guide to verify compatibility. Many hard drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the procedure. For customers with purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
