This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the actual hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large quantity of these PCBs, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the pictured example. Intended use: data recovery or repair of compatible WD SATA 3.5 drives. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most PCBs carry unique data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to operate correctly. If possible, the ROM chip (or its contents) must be transferred to the replacement board. A local computer technician can usually perform the chip transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary Adaptation Service that either transfers the ROM chip onto the new PCB or programs the new board with the correct ROM data.
