This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the circuit board you receive may not be identical to the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will address your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs include a ROM "memory" chip that stores unique drive-specific information required for proper operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
