This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: most hard drive PCBs contain unique ROM "memory" information required for the drive to function. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If you are not comfortable soldering or chip swapping, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers with purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
