Item is the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we have a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is meant for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before buying, use our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide to confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your drive problem, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
