This sale includes the hard drive circuit board / logic board only — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large stock, the actual PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This replacement board is intended for use in data recovery or HDD repair. Before ordering, confirm compatibility with our Donor Matching Guide and follow the hard drive diagnostics guide to determine whether a PCB replacement will resolve your issue. Many WD PCBs contain unique drive-specific data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; this information is required for proper operation. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If transplanting the chip is feasible, a local computer repair technician can usually perform the task. For purchases of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or programming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
