Only the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) is included in this sale — the hard drive itself is not provided. We maintain a large inventory, so the PCB you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the photo. This replacement board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before ordering, confirm that replacing the PCB will address your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many drive PCBs store unique configuration data on a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — a local computer technician can often perform the transplant if the chip is movable. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either physically moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
