This WD SATA 3.5 PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Many hard drive circuit boards contain a ROM "memory" chip holding unique drive data that is required for correct operation; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If possible, a local computer technician can perform the chip transplant.
