This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before ordering, verify that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs include unique data stored on the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM content is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
