This sale includes only the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board). No hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: repair or data-recovery replacement for WD SATA 3.5 drives. Before buying, confirm a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and checking compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most replacement PCBs store drive-specific data in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for normal operation. That ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local PC technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the board with the correct ROM data.
