Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Many WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to function; that ROM or its contents must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
