This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the drive itself and any other parts are not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact printed circuit board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important technical note: most WD PCBs contain unique parameters stored in the ROM "memory" chip that are required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its stored data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the appropriate ROM data.
