This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique data stored in the ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board for proper operation. If moving the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more, we include complimentary adaptation service — either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
