This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and service data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that data must be present on the replacement board for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the new board or the new board reprogrammed — a local computer technician can usually perform this task. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or programming the correct ROM data onto the new board.
