This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery applications. Most HDD PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved or programmed onto the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can typically relocate the chip. For orders of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
