This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery work. Most of these PCBs store unique calibration/firmware data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly and must be transferred or reprogrammed on the replacement board. If moving the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more we provide complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
