Sale is for the hard drive circuit board only (PCB / logic board). No hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the item you receive may differ slightly from the pictured board. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repairs or data recovery work. To confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique information in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function. That ROM chip, or the data it contains, must be transferred to the replacement circuit board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers whose orders total $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
