This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photograph. The PCB is intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD circuit boards contain unique calibration data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the swap. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM information.
