This listing includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB/logic board) only — no hard drive is supplied. Because we have a large quantity of PCBs in stock, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data-recovery use. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
