This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the actual hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of these boards, the PCB you receive may not be identical to the photo. This part is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that will either move the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
