This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB shipped may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for use in HDD repair and data-recovery situations. Before buying, verify that replacing the PCB will resolve your problem by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and confirm compatibility by reviewing the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs contain unique calibration/firmware stored on a ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for proper drive operation, so the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary Adaptation Service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
