This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the pictured item. Intended use: HDD repair and data recovery. Prior to purchase, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most replacement PCBs hold unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct drive operation. That ROM chip, or its stored data, must be transferred to the new circuit board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
