Listing is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the picture. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. To determine whether a replacement board will resolve your issue, please use our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred onto the replacement PCB. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either moving the ROM chip to the new board or reprogramming the replacement PCB with the correct ROM data.
