This listing is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. We carry a large inventory of PCBs, so the actual board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This PCB is meant for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique parameters stored in an onboard ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
