This listing is for a hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Nearly all hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot transplant the chip yourself, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either relocates the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
