Intended for hard drive repair and data recovery, this replacement board can be used when performing diagnostics and repairs. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board; if chip relocation is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer.
