This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is NOT included. We keep a large inventory, so the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Many WD PCBs store unique parameters in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board—if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the swap. For purchases of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
