Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive included. Because we stock large quantities of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, use our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm a PCB swap will address your problem, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many drive PCBs hold unique information in a ROM “memory” chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be moved or programmed onto the replacement board. If a physical transfer of the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the task. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
