This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for use in data recovery and hard drive repair, this PCB is a direct replacement for the listed model. Confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique information in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; the ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If possible, a local computer technician can transplant the chip for you. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
