This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Most PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that ROM content is required for proper drive operation and must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If it can be physically moved, a local computer technician can perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the board with the correct ROM data.
