This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
