Product is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock large quantities, the exact circuit board shipped may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery situations. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will address your drive’s problem by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs hold drive-specific information in the ROM chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. You must either transfer the ROM chip or copy its contents to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer, a local computer technician should be able to move the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
