This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will address your drive problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
