This sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM “memory” chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip—or the data contained on it—must be moved to the replacement board or written to it. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can typically transplant the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
