This listing is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is NOT included. Because we carry a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board shipped may vary slightly from the photo. These circuit boards are intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Most PCBs include a unique ROM "memory" chip that contains essential drive parameters; that ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board for proper drive operation. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant; otherwise the ROM data must be reprogrammed onto the new PCB. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new board or programming the replacement PCB with the correct ROM data.
