Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your problem by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain essential, unique data stored in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board; if physical chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the operation. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
