This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before buying, confirm that a PCB replacement will fix your drive by using our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility via the Donor Matching Guide. Most PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function. That ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
