Sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we maintain a large stock of PCBs, the actual board you receive may vary slightly from the picture. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a PCB swap is likely to fix your drive by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip; this information is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical transfer of the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
