This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock many PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for HDD repair and data recovery, this replacement board can be used when a faulty PCB is suspected. Before purchasing, consult our hard drive diagnostics guide to verify that a PCB swap is the correct fix, and check compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If moving the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
